Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most effective way to fade or eliminate unwanted tattoos. At Skin+ Beauty Clinic, we use advanced medical-grade laser technology to precisely target tattoo pigment while protecting the surrounding skin.
Our Spectra Q-Switched laser delivers ultra-short pulses of energy that break down ink particles into tiny fragments. Over time, your body naturally clears these particles, allowing the tattoo to gradually fade with each treatment.
Unlike older removal methods that could cause significant discomfort or scarring, laser tattoo removal is minimally invasive, precise, and designed to support healthy skin throughout the process.
Each treatment is customized based on your tattoo’s size, colour, depth, and your skin type to ensure safe, effective, and natural-looking results.
THE BENEFITS:
Medical lasers use a beam of light to significantly lighten or completely remove your tattoo. When the ink particles absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into fragments and then absorbed through your body’s immune system. This process generally takes a few weeks. The larger the tattoo, the more sessions it will take to break down the ink particles.
Duration:
45 minutes.
Recommended Sessions:
Tattoo removal is a gradual process. Most tattoos require 6–12 treatments for significant fading or complete removal, spaced approximately 6–8 weeks apart to allow the body time to clear fragmented ink.
The exact number of sessions varies based on several factors, including:
– Ink colour: black and dark blue respond fastest, while green, teal, and yellow may require additional sessions
– Tattoo age: older tattoos typically fade more easily than newer ones
– Ink depth & density: professional tattoos often require more treatments than amateur tattoos
– Size & location: areas with better circulation (like the chest or arms) respond faster than lower extremities
– Skin tone & healing response: individual immune response plays a key role in ink clearance
– Layering or cover-ups: tattoos that have been retouched or covered require additional sessions
During your consultation, we assess your tattoo and provide a personalized treatment plan to achieve the safest and most effective results.
After Treatment Care:
Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and a healing antibacterial ointment with gauze.
Right after your treatment, your skin will have a white discolouration, and the area around the tattoo may become reddish and appear swollen. This is normal and will disappear slowly over time. Results take about 5 weeks after each treatment. Immediately after treatment, antibacterial ointment and gauze will be applied to the treated area to minimize infection.
Occasionally, a whitening of the skin may occur. However, normal skin tone should return within 6 -12 months following your last treatment session. Since the ink used in tattooing can vary from tattoo to tattoo, some patients have only partial clearing even after several sessions.
Some patients say they feel a slight sting, like the snap of a rubber band on the skin. Many treatments do not require anesthetics. However, some patients feel more comfortable with a local numbing agent, such as a topical anesthetic.
